A Project of Lateef Carpet · Est. 1972 · Lahore, Pakistan
Fifty-Four Years. Three Generations. One Unbroken Thread.
Carpetery is proudly a project of Lateef Carpet — a house whose name has stood for handmade excellence since 1972. For fifty-four years and across three generations, one belief has guided everything we do: a rug is not merely woven, it is inherited.
A Rug Is Inherited, Not Just Woven
Long before Carpetery reached homes around the world, there was a single loom in Lahore and a family that believed a carpet should outlive the hands that made it.
That belief never left. Every rug we make today is still shaped by the same standard the first generation set in 1972 — the knot, the hand, and the honesty of the work.

Three Generations, One Name
From a single loom to homes across America, the tools have changed but the hands have not. This is how the thread was passed down.

The First Generation
The Founder
It began with a single loom in Lahore and a founder who refused to compromise. When machine-made imitations were flooding the market, he chose the harder path — the slow, patient art of the hand-knotted carpet. Every rug that left his workshop carried his personal promise: nothing would bear the Lateef name unless it truly deserved to.
The Craft Refined
The Second Generation
The Standard, Deepened
The second generation inherited more than a business; they inherited a standard. They deepened the craft — sourcing finer wools, preserving traditional dyeing techniques, and nurturing a growing family of master weavers whose skills had been passed down for centuries. Lateef Carpet grew from a local workshop into a name trusted far beyond Lahore, yet the measure of success never changed: the knot, the hand, and the honesty of the work.

The Third Generation
The Promise, Delivered
In 2024, the third generation — led by Hamza Malik — carried the family's craft to a new audience, launching Carpetery in the United States. Built upon fifty-four years of heritage, it brings our rugs directly from our looms in Lahore to homes across America — no brokers, no middlemen, no markups stacked in between. The tools of the trade may have changed, but the hands have not. Every carpet is still knotted, sheared, washed, and finished the way our founder insisted it must be: slowly, honestly, and by hand.
One Family. One Standard. Since 1972.
Three generations. More than five decades. Millions of knots tied by hand. When you bring home a Carpetery rug, you bring home a piece of that story — a legacy fifty-four years in the making, and still being woven today.
